Mauke Pe Chauka – The spirit of cricket

It's not only the IPL Teams that are having fun on the grounds during the Indian Premier League (IPL). Workmob users, or for the purpose of this blog, let’s address them as Team Workmob also has had quite a few hits and misses on the 'ground' during IPL season. That 'ground' dear friends, was none other than www.workmob.com.

Mauke Pe Chauka was workmob’s first online cricket game where users participated to win wonderful prizes by predicting the winners of Indian Premier League matches. Workmob users actively participated in the contest with about 500 of them being supremely active. Now that’s what we call “ground” breaking!

Sounds incredible, doesn’t it?

It indeed was. It was an exciting game where Team Workmob made pre-match predictions, earned points to qualify as a winner and won exciting prizes like LED TV and wrist watches.

The Pre-match prediction questions were as simple as below; but it isn’t easy to predict in the game of cricket. Even though Team Workmob has enough to chew on to make their predictions, but in the end probably for contests like these you just have to go with your gut:

  • Who will win the toss or the match?
  • Who will be score the most runs?
  • Who will be crowned as man-of-the-match?

It was a contest best enjoyed with co-workers. There was casual banter around and people shared jokes which made it more fun for everyone who had, and also who hadn’t, participated in the contest. There were mixed emotions right from cheering as well letting out sighs for their favorite team.

Congratulations to the winners – Harshit Porwal and Vinod Sharma. While we applaud for these two, we’d like to give a special mention to Lalil Kumar Tailor, who held the very first position until the last round of questions of the contest a.k.a. Mauke Pe Chauka finals.

Lalil Kumar, lost his “mauka mauka” to Harshit Porwal - which was heartbreaking - but still deserves a special mention; as this is the least we can do! After all, it was a game of predictions and even you would agree with the phrase that Bollywood coined — Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander!
